Retired Porn Stars: The New Arbiters of Goodness?

A website called MMAMania.com posted a story today with this headline: "Ronda Rousey is so good she even impresses retired adult film stars." There are any number of guesses one might venture as to just what in the regal fuck that's supposed to mean, but the long and short of the story itself is that Lisa Ann spent a few moments extolling Rousey's virtues during her weekly guest spot on the Mad Dog Sports Radio show "Morning Men."

So back to that headline, it's already off the mark by espousing that Rousey impresses retired adult film stars, when in fact there's only one retired adult film star in the discussion.

But furthermore, in what universe is the regard of a retired adult film star a measure of an athlete's goodness? How does A relate to B? Not to suggest by any means that a retired adult film star can't have a valid opinion about a sports figure, but what makes it the ultimate, decisive opinion, as this headline seems to submit? Would it come off as remotely reasonable if, say, a headline ran somewhere that simply reversed the roles of the parties at hand, such as "Lisa Ann is so good she even impresses female MMA fighters"?

Meanwhile, on top of all that, this posting somehow missed a completely different and much more high-profile porn tie-in to Rousey that arguably does have bearing on her goodness, that being Joanna Angel's in-production porn parody Ronda ArouseMe. Christ almighty, if you're gonna pull porn into your clumsy "reporting" as click bait, is a blatantly hand-served angle entirely too unpossible to recognize? Oh well, off to find out what Rhonda Jo Petty thinks of Itzhak Perlman's violin playing ability.
